Fine Friday IV: Elevators.

Today's post revolves around elevators.  Some elevators are truly a dream.  For example: glass elevators in an atrium.  But then you run into elevators in parking garages, old buildings, and the worst: dorms.  Another problem I have with elevators is speed.  Luckily the ones in my dorm (27 stories) are pretty fast.  Usually the worst offenders are parking garages.  Usually if my climb is less than 5 stories, I'll just take the stairs.  Sometimes that isn't possible though (see this post).  But sometimes you step into an elevator, and it smells nice, everything is clean, and the light music puts you in a generally cheery mood.

    elevators are better than escalators!
    having to go down 5 stories on a series of randomly placed escalators is not fun at all.
    Luckily there are not that many parking garage escalators...
    your dorm has elevators? mine only has one staircase at the other end. sure there are others, but they are "emergency exits only" and there is a "$50 fine for tampering or misuse". Lucky you.

    tommy try the trick where you press your floor number and the close door button at the same time.... i doubt it works, but i don't have an elevator to try it on haha

    I did try that. I couldn't tell if it actually worked though, because it wasn't a busy time of day, but I didn't stop at any floors.
